INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE TESTING SYSTEM (IELTS)
This course prepares students who want to sit for the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) test. IELTS is one of the world’s most popular English language test, where it is jointly managed by British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL).
The IELTS test comprises of four skills – listening, reading, writing & speaking.
The IELTS test comes in two versions, academic & general. The academic version is often required for university/college admissions. The general version is primarily for training programs, secondary school admissions, and immigration.
Students will be graded based on their capability using scores from 1 to 9 band for each part of the test – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. The final results will be added from all the four areas, which adds up to a final score from 1 to 9 band. Each band is equal and represents the candidate’s level of English ability. All parts of the test and the Overall Band Score can be reported in whole and half bands, eg 6.5, 7.0, 7.5, 8.0.
IELTS score is required by students as evidence of their English proficiency mainly required by institutions of higher learning, colleges, and universities. Individual institutions set their own IELTS requirements according to the requirements of the course, study or work-related programme.

IELTS preparation COURSE ATTENDANCE CRITERIA (STUDENT PASS HOLDER)
The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) requires Student’s Pass holders to maintain an attendance of at least 90%. Students who attend at least 75% of lessons are eligible for a Certificate of Attendance.
IELTS Graduation Criteria
Successful completion of the course, with at least a minimum attendance of 75%.

Every Monday (Tuesday if a Public Holiday falls on a Monday).

- build up a depository of exam-focused strategies
- find out how to score extra points for originality by rephrasing concepts differently
- steer clear of frequent and common pronunciation errors
- acquire excellent speech patterns and rhythm from native-speaking teachers and be able to apply them consistently
IELTS ACADEMIC PREPARATION ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Applicant must be at least 15 years old at the date of admission.
- A student who has successfully completed Module 2 of the Certificate in General English or minimum GCE N Level.
- A candidate who had obtained a previous IELTS band score of 5.0 or equivalent.
- The Students without formal English qualification will be given a placement test to determine the level of proficiency.
