1) Am I able to select the students that I want to host?

Yes, you will remain the master of your home. Select the time period that is convenient to you to host your house to international students. Most importantly, you must be comfortable with the student and parents during their first viewing at your house. The student will expect much of the same from you as they learn to adapt to their new surroundings and become a fully-fledged member of your family.

2) Do I need to pay any subscription fees to post my homestay in your website?

It’s free. Homestay provider do not have to pay anything to Nanyang Learning (Study Abroad Singapore) to become a legal guardianship. You just sign up an account, and your homestay will get promoted on our website for free. Only when you get a confirmed booking, you are required to pay us a small commission. 3) How many photos can I upload for each homestay?

You are only allowed to upload your best 4 homestay images. Kindly ensure that your photos are clear, good angle and of good resolution.

4) How can I register myself as a homestay provider to find homestay students under Nanyang Learning?

You may click here, sign up a new account and complete your registration process online easily. Provide as much detail as you can about your rooms, rates, amenities and facilities along with some great pictures of rooms and facilities. Getting homestay students in Singapore can be this easy.

5) Can I have my own house rules for the international students?

Yes, this is a good practice to ensure the international student respects the rules. You can still maintain your same way of lifestyle while having the international students in your house. Treat the student the same way you would your own child, as possessing the same rights and responsibilities and adhering to the same standards of behaviour and academic expectations. It’s so nice to become the foreign student’s second family, their friend and their confidant.

6) What are the roles to be a homestay guardian in Singapore?

Looking after the needs of students so parents can have a peace of mind while their children are with you. The guardian should be readily contactable by the school and is responsible to account for the child under his/ her care. You will be like an acting parent of this foreign student, in the absence of their parents in Singapore. The Guardian must track their student’s study progress and be ready to provide advice and assistance as well as attend any parent-teacher meetings and report developments to a student’s parents.
