ABOUT O LEVEL FOR PRIVATE CANDIDATE
The Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level, O Level) Examination is held each year (October / November) in Singapore.
The O ‘Level Certificate is being internationally recognized qualification, that can be used to apply for tertiary education in most countries, worldwide.
The applications of all O level Private Candidates to apply/ take the examination are accepted based on certain criteria/conditions.
The GCE O level Course ( For Private Candidate) is intended to prepare students for their further study at local polytechnics, junior colleges, or foreign colleges and local universities.
Full Time ‘O’ Level Private Candidate School (Comes with Student Pass for International Students) – Local students need not apply for student pass.
WHY PRIVATE CANDIDATE FOR O LEVEL
- Direct entry to any of the 5 Government Polytechnics (Singapore Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic)
- Pursue in any of the local/ overseas Junior College
COURSE DURATION (FULL TIME)
- O level Preparatory Courses: 12/ 16/ 18 or 22 months

- 1 teacher to 30 students
SCHOOL HOURS (MONDAY TO FRIDAY EXCEPT PUBLIC HOLIDAYS)
- 9am to 4pm, 1hr lunch Break ( Near Paya Lebar MRT)
O LEVEL COURSE ATTENDANCE CRITERIA (STUDENT PASS HOLDER)
The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) requires Student’s Pass holders to maintain an attendance of at least 90%. Students who attend at least 75% of lessons are eligible for a Certificate of Attendance.
EDUCATION PATHWAY
A GCE ‘O’ Level Certificate with 6 ‘O’ Level passes (including English Language) would enable students to meet the general academic entry requirements of many Junior Colleges, Polytechnics, Institute of Technical Education, Diploma, and other equivalent institutions not only in Singapore but also in many other countries. Do take note that admission into these institutions is at the sole discretion of the individual institutions.

O LEVEL PRIVATE SCHOOL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Students must be 15 years old or above of age as of 1st January of the examination year.
- Students must have completed at least Year 9 or its equivalent in their respective countries.
- International students are strongly advised to have English proficiency equivalent to an IELTS/TOEFL iBT score of 5.5/70. Pass Placement Test or Certificate in EFL Level 2 is required.
- For local students, completed of Sec 2 or equivalent is required.
- Student Pass holders are required to maintain an attendance of 90% and above to meet the Immigration and Check points Authority requirement.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS
International Student to seek admission to a Junior College and Millennia Institute (JC/MI) may take the JPACT Examination. JPACT Examination is usually takes place 3-4 months towards the end of each year.
