At this stage most students already know the content. What costs them is technique — essay structure, weak evaluation, and real-world application that stays vague. That's what I focus on. I mark all written work in full rather than only discussing answers verbally, and build repeatable frameworks for CSQs and essays so she isn't starting from scratch on every question. My strength is in making complicated concepts simple, because I understand them on a deeper level than most. Throughout JC I helped many of my JC mates achieve passing grades in weekly tests and their WAs by explaining concepts properly and getting them to understand. Once a concept is genuinely clear, application to unfamiliar questions follows on its own — which is exactly what H2 Econs papers test. I'd start by going through her recent papers to see where she's losing marks, since it's usually a consistent pattern rather than scattered mistakes. From there we work through past-year questions under timed conditions. She'll get a topic tracker, condensed notes and master mindmaps from the first session, and revision is spaced across the term using the forgetting curve so earlier topics stay retained heading into the A Levels rather than being re-crammed before each test. Teaching background: 1-1 JC tuition in H1 and H2 Economics, lessons taught at a tuition centre, and a year coaching classmates through JC Economics at TJC. Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri 7.30-9.30pm all work for me, and weekends are open. $55-60/hr.
