Tutor’s Teaching Background

I am currently pursuing a Diploma In Tamil Studies with Early Education ( Year 3). I am currently doing my 6 months internship at MOE Kindergarten at Westwood to become a fully pledged Tamil preschool teacher. I am being trained on how to teach preschool children and create a conducive environment for them to learn. I have been trained on how to create my own lesson plans that caters to the students needs and implement them to a group of Tamil class of 10 children during my internship period. Hence, I am aware of Tamil language content knowledge, teaching peadegogies and classroom management. I will also be preparing my own materials that caters to the children's learning needs. Apart from being just book-oriented, I will plan activities in between that make the lessons interesting. I will give tamil worksheets such as practicing open ended comprehension, cloz passages and also test papers to strengthen the student's tamil language. I willl also give oral practices by shairng screen some reading aloud passages and oral videos and prepare questions for her to answer and will guide if needed. I have taught 2 students for Tamil. ( p1and p5 ). The p5 Tamil student has improved form 50-70 marks in end of year exam. I am also currently teaching 1 students for K2 Phonics and Math. I can assure you that I will be patient while teaching the student tamil and make sure she gains full understanding. I will provide activities that trains the children’s alphabet . Storytelling can also be included so that children will be engaged in the lessons . I have my own handmade puppets to use for storytelling. I will show short videos as to how to pronounce the alphabets and words. O Level Tamil: A1 Higher Tamil: B3 Current GPA score ( Diploma In Tamil Studies with Early Education ( Year 3) : 3.2/4.0
