Tutor’s Teaching Background

Hi! I’m Amanda, currently an economics and marketing undergraduate student. I’m excited to apply for the tutoring position. I believe learning should be engaging, effective, and enjoyable, and I strive to create a positive environment where every student feels comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and reaching their full potential. Over the past two years, I’ve tutored students of different ages and backgrounds in English, Mathematics, and Science, including both local and international students. My teaching experience includes: • Primary 6 Mathematics and Science • Primary 4 Mathematics and Science • Primary 3 Mathematics and Science • Primary 1 English, Phonics, and Mathematics • Preschool English and Phonics (French student) • Grade 1 English (Spanish student) I’ve also done an overseas internship in Shanghai during my course of studies. I believe that every child learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to suit each student’s learning style, pace, and goals. My teaching style is less passive but more engaging, where I first identify the students' weaknesses and work around that. I am also flexible to students' varying learning styles and needs. By building trust and rapport, I create a supportive space where students feel encouraged to learn. I also incorporate interactive activities and relatable examples to make lessons engaging while helping students develop a strong understanding of key concepts. Beyond academic progress, I value open communication with both students and parents to ensure lessons remain aligned with each child’s needs and goals. I’m passionate about helping students grow not only in their grades but also in their confidence and enjoyment of learning.
