Tutor’s Teaching Background

I scored high As (score of 80-90) in H1 General Paper from the end of J1 onwards until A-Levels, A1 in Language Arts (English + Literature) in Secondary School as well as A* for English in PSLE. As I was previously the President of the Humanities and Current Affairs Society in Hwa Chong Institution, I am very familiar with current affairs knowledge and will be able to advise your child on challenging concepts, so that they will be able to use more supporting examples for their essay. I will be able to tailor the difficulty of the practices to the student's learning level, such that lessons are structured in progressively increasing difficulty. I am also familiar with the Secondary 1 English curriculum. I will be able to mark the students' practice papers and return them within 24 hours with feedback and comments, and will be available to answer questions most times of the day. I favour a teaching style that's more nurturing and patient, to allow for space for the tutee to understand concepts rather than purely memorising content! This allows the tutee to be able to apply similar concepts to different questions even when the questions seem unfamiliar. I will be able to provide my own notes for comprehension and essay questions which the tutee can use.
