Tutor’s Teaching Background

I scored high As (score of 80-90) in H2 Chemistry from the middle of J1 onwards until A-Levels. I previously tutored 3 students in H2 Chemistry and managed to help them achieve grade improvements of U --> B, B --> A and S --> A respectively. All 3 of them were taught online. In addition, I studied H3 Chemistry and obtained a Distinction for the subject at A Levels. I also represented my school, HCI and achieved a Gold in the Singapore Chemistry League competition. I have experience dealing with challenging Chemistry concepts and will be able to advise the student and guide him/her in terms of conceptual knowledge. As a tutor, I will be able to provide the student with notes, teaching materials as well as practice papers. I will be able to mark the students' practice papers and return them within 24 hours with feedback and comments, and will be available to answer questions most times of the day. I favour a teaching style that's more nurturing and patient, to allow for space for the tutee to understand concepts rather than purely memorising content! This allows the tutee to be able to apply similar concepts to different questions even when the questions seem unfamiliar.
