Tutor’s Teaching Background

I have one year of experience teaching coding and robotics to students aged 6–10 at an enrichment centre, with a strong focus on kindergarten and primary levels. While my background is in enrichment rather than academic subjects, the core teaching skills carry over. I’m used to guiding young learners, explaining concepts clearly, and keeping students engaged and on task. I’ve often worked with students who are completely new to a topic, so I know how to be patient, repeat key ideas, and try different approaches until something makes sense. Parents and colleagues often describe me as patient and approachable, especially because I don’t mind slowing down or answering similar questions multiple times. Although I teach coding and robotics, I frequently reinforce math concepts such as fractions, decimals, angles, and basic problem-solving. This has given me a good understanding of where students usually struggle and how to break down these topics in simple, accessible ways. I’ve also tutored my niece in primary school math, which gave me additional one-on-one experience with academic learning. I genuinely enjoy working with kids and helping them feel more confident and less anxious about learning.
