Dedicated and experienced Mandarin teacher with over 30 years of teaching in Singapore, Malaysia, China, and online. Strong academic background and proven record of motivating students from preschool to adults (between the ages of 4 and 85). Proficient at integrating mastery of language with Chinese poetry, literature, history, culture, and philosophy to enhance both proficiency and appreciation for the culture. Over the years, I have successfully guided many students to achieve significant improvement in their Chinese performance through deliberate lesson planning, test-oriented approaches, and gracious, encouraging methods. I am also familiar with the MOE syllabus and organize lessons to cater to each learner's unique needs; whether to build firm foundations, improve test-taking strategies, or boost confidence levels. My students have always shown measurable improvement in academic performance and personal motivation to learn Mandarin.
