Tutor’s Teaching Background

I have three years of tutoring experience and some experience working for MOE as a teaching intern. I have tutored 20 students in the last two years, including students from VJC, Raffles, CJC, TMJC, and private candidates. My students have achieved impressive grade jumps (e.g. U to A). Using an exam-oriented approach, I ensure that my students are not only able to grasp key concepts, but also interpret questions and understand what examiners expect to see in model answers. I specialise in making complex concepts simple for my students to understand through clear explanations and innovative approaches. In this way, I demystify the subject and make it enjoyable to my students. I have received feedback from my students that under my guidance, they have learned to genuinely enjoy the study of economics. The materials I use come from various schools’ notes and examination papers. I also create my own resources (e.g. mock papers, typed notes) for my students. Under my guidance, many of my students have made grade jumps of at least three to five grades. I am currently studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) at the University of Oxford. Therefore, any students I take will have to be comfortable taking online classes with me. I have extensive experience and success teaching online.
