Tutor’s Teaching Background

I am a full-time tutor and only conduct private tutoring. I specialise in A-levels General Paper, Secondary and Primary English, and Primary Math and Science. I have 5 years of experience and my students include foundational and standard Primary, G2 and G3 Secondary and JC students. I also have experience tutoring students with autism. I am currently tutoring one P5 (Rosyth), two P6 (Ai Tong and Nanyang), two O-Level (Anderson and Catholic High) and one JC 2 (Dunman High) students.  I will require the student to purchase assessment books and provide me with their past and ongoing school papers. Prior to the lesson, I will assign homework from the assessment books, while I meticulously go through the student's school papers. This would enable me to identify the student's weaknesses and the testing style of the school. I will provide tailored annotations on how the different question types should be tackled and step by step problem solving techniques. I am also happy to follow the syllabus that the student is using or materials that the student has in mind. For online lessons, I will use Google docs and ZOOM. I will include lesson points covered, topics discussed and annotations in the Google docs which the student can view and edit simultaneously with me. This enables me to track the understanding and focus of the student and enables me to clarify any points immediately. My lessons will be adapted to the specific needs of students as I will be focusing on their key areas for improvement in accordance to the syllabus. I have consistently achieved the highest banding for English till A-levels and have participated in various humanities competitions such as the NUS Geography Challenge while studying in Dunman High. I'm a law undergraduate and am competent in training students in critical thinking, writing and evaluation skills.
