Tutor’s Teaching Background

Experience: - Specialising in Upper Primary English and Secondary English (NA & EXPRESS) - Taught Lower and Upper Primary Mathematics - Taught Secondary English Literature Tutoring style: - I use materials from students, other schools' papers and assessment books. For compositions, I focus a lot on idea development and structure of essay. As for comprehension, the primary focus is practice and familiarising with Cambridge exam requirements. - For younger students, I place emphasis on reading as well, so usually I would print short stories or recommend books for my students. Then I will have then complete book reviews just so I know they are reading regularly. - Essay writing: I usually choose a topic for the week and plan my lessons by searching for videos and articles about that topic which I will then discuss with my students during class before they complete the essays. - Mathematics: I provide a wide range of practice questions from schools in Singapore, and supplement with other practices using assessment books. If the student requires assistance with school assignments, I will support their learning that way too.
