Tutor’s Teaching Background

I have 1+ years of informal tutoring experience, from my secondary school years to the present as a university student. I have provided one-on-one guidance and group learning sessions to peers and my younger sister in Additional Math, E Math, and Pure Physics. My teaching approach focuses on breaking down difficult concepts into clear, step by step explanations, using real world examples and practice questions to ensure understanding. I believe in helping students learn how to think, rather than simply giving answers. I will guide them through the problem solving process so they can arrive at solutions by themselves. I also adapt my teaching based on each student’s learning pace, and I am patient and encouraging to help students build confidence. In addition, I served as a Tekong Section Commander (Sergeant) during my National Service, where I taught and guided 50 recruits, further strengthening my ability to explain concepts clearly, manage different learning speeds, and lead structured training sessions. Through these experiences, the students and peers I mentored showed noticeable improvements in their understanding, test results, and confidence in problem solving. I am comfortable teaching primary and secondary school students, and I focus on building strong foundations before progressing to harder exam level questions. Although my experience is informal, I am consistent, committed, and dedicated to helping every student improve.
