Tutor’s Teaching Background

- Currently getting experience as a tutor in tuition centre, teaching primary and secondary school students math! Looking to get more experience through teaching secondary school students now! - Have volunteered under Youth Corps Singapore to teach Primary 3/4 Mathematics for 2 months - A for Math in primary school, A2 for both E and A Math in secondary school, and B for H2 Math in JC - Have great interest in the Mathematics subject and tutoring in general, looking to get more experience and improve my teaching methods. - Passionate to teach mathematics in primary/secondary school, looking to improve my portfolio to become a MOE secondary school teacher teaching G3 E/A Math and POA :) As for my teaching methodology, it is as follows as stated below - Spend the first (or two) lessons underrstanding strengths and weaknesses, through reviewing of past papers, or myb a diagnostic test. If need be discuss with parents to work something out as accordingly. - After understanding the foundation I will provide resources and explain concept, to a point where regardless of school level, the student will have the confidence to apply it flexibly wherever and whenever. - Depending on the student's situation, 3 weeks or 1 month prior to major exams I will provide papers and proceed with problem solving techniques, speed, and other skills to do well in these exams. - (overall I plan to keep in contact with the student and parent closely for major tests, teaching of syballus, etc, to plan lessons the best way possible) Resources I definitely provide for tutees! - Use of websites for understanding math concepts - Use of google classroom to track work. May not necessarily be tuition work that I give but can be school work, if there are any doubts to send via PDF and ask away! - Past year exam papers - Tracking of topics, use of roadmaps to explain to parents on clear-cut goals and provide feedback - Summary Cheat Sheet, for students to create by him/herself alongside the tutor myself as time passes, will be a useful tool to look back when re-visiting old topics!
