Tutor’s Teaching Background

I'm Isaac, an NTU undergraduate with Grade 8 ABRSM Piano (Distinction). I play works by Beethoven and Mozart, and I also play by ear, so I can teach your child both to read music and to play the songs they love. I have also coached young children in Math, so I know how to keep little ones engaged and patient. At age 4, my goal is to build a love for music and a strong foundation, not to rush. Lessons are short, playful and varied: clapping rhythms, finding high and low sounds, learning finger numbers and playing simple tunes. I introduce note names step by step through games and familiar songs, and I train your child's ear by having them listen to and echo short melodies. From day one, I build good habits: relaxed hands, curved fingers, good posture and steady rhythm. Each week, I give a short practice task of just a few minutes a day, along with simple tips so parents can support practice at home without pressure. I'm patient and encouraging, and I celebrate small wins to keep your child motivated. My aim is for your child to enjoy the piano and be well prepared for ABRSM Grade 1 when the time comes.
