Tutor’s Teaching Background

With over 8 years of experience in tutoring Mathematics and Science, I bring both depth of knowledge and a strong passion for education. I am NIE-trained and have taught across multiple primary and secondary schools, which has equipped me with a solid foundation in pedagogy and student engagement. My teaching philosophy is rooted in conceptual clarity. Unlike many tuition providers who rely heavily on rote memorisation, I focus on helping students truly understand the "why" behind the methods. This approach not only improves academic performance but also enhances critical thinking and long-term problem-solving skills—skills that are essential beyond the classroom. I pride myself on being able to simplify even the most complex topics into relatable, easy-to-grasp concepts tailored to each student's learning style. I believe that with the right guidance, every student can gain confidence and mastery in Maths and Science. In addition, I actively integrate technology in my teaching—leveraging tools like ChatGPT to encourage independent exploration and autonomous learning. By guiding students on how to use these resources effectively, I help them become more self-directed learners who are confident in asking questions, finding solutions, and thinking critically on their own. My ultimate goal is to empower students to take ownership of their learning, equipping them with the skills and mindset they need for lifelong success.
