Tutor’s Teaching Background

1-1 teaching. Taught 1 K2 kid, 4 P1 kids, 1 P2 kid, 1 P5 kid, 1 P6 kid and 1 Sec 2 kid for 1 year and 4 months for Chinese. Out of my students 1 of them was Indian, 1 was Malay and 1 had ADHD. I follow the syllabus closely and try to make student catch up with class content first then afterwards I drill students in their weak areas. I also try various ways to adapt to different students' needs and always prep lessons with lesson plans and notes on students. Students have feedback that they understand better with my teaching and explanation. Never taught piano before but am confident to teach until Grade 2 for playing and theory. I had distinction in Grade 2. I've taught a Higher Chinese student through online lessons before. What I usually do is that I will ask the student to take photo of their materials at the start of the lesson then ask the student if there is anything they want to go through with me in particular (like questions on their homework etc). If they don't have, then I will assess their standard by asking them to read out to me certain reading materials and give them assignments on writing based on their assessment books. I require the student to scan their work before lesson and send it to me so that I can mark and go through with them during the tuition. I will also ask the student to scan me the contents that we will go through in class beforehand. It's best if the student can have 1 camera facing them and 1 camera facing what they are writing. I will also usually give spelling at the start of consequent lessons. I use Zoom but can adapt to the platform the student is using. I got A1 for O Level Chinese and A2 for O Level Higher Chinese.
