Tutor’s Teaching Background

Tutoring Experience (in years): 2024: Currently tutoring a P5 (2024) student in Maths and Science (1 to 1 home tuition)   2024: Part-time tutor @Sheng Academy teaching P3-P4 classes on English on an ad-hoc basis2022: Tutored high-ability P4 students on out-of-syllabus science topics as part of a VIA titled Project Navisco for a total of 8 sessions, 2 hours once a week @CDAC Toa Payoh2022: Tutored P6 students from AMKPS on PSLE math, creating interactive slides with questions and answers including animations. This was as part of a self-initiated VIA project titled Project Home. The lessons were conducted over Zoom, 1.5h per session with a tutor to student ratio of 1:1 or 1:2. There were about 10 sessionsI also have a 10 year old brother who is a P4 student at Casuarina Primary School so I informally tutor him on all subjects haha.Teaching Approach: I believe in inspiring the student to enjoy learning instead of studying purely for the sake of results. As a student who just completed A levels and just ended my journey in formal education, I understand the struggles and stresses of meeting expectations and completing loads of work. I aim to help the tutee grasp key concepts such that he/she is able to apply it to other questions instead of blindly copying answers. I believe in consistent practice instead of reading notes, and the results will come eventually :) I also do hope to be a life mentor and share my life experiences or offer any advice I could possibly give to the younger students even if it's outside of school work.   Have a strong foundation in Maths and Science, consistently scoring 90+ in Secondary School Math (IP) and 80+ for ScienceCan whatsapp me any questions or concepts that the student needs to clarify at any time.
