Tutor’s Teaching Background

Tutoring profile - 4 years of experience as a private tutor - Worked as a full time art teacher for a year - Have a year of experience teaching kids (5-15 years old) in a big group setting - Taught an adult painting previously - Have had about 10 students ages 5-9 years old previously - Currently teaching 14 students ages 4 to 13 years old - Have taught 3 kids on the autism spectrum before or have slower learning abilities - Patient and works well with kids, will match teaching pace to each kid as well - Able to teach more technical sketching and painting - Believes in the importance to hone kid’s creative thinking and ideas through themed lessons on top of their motor, observation skills and design/art knowledge - Materials provided and is inclusive in rates (only for special tailored classes that is specific it will be on a reimbursement basis) - Teaching approach: My usual lesson plans would cater to the age of the kid and for the younger age group (drawing, craft work, exploring different art mediums) I would focus more on sensory elements,motor skills and observation skills to basic art elements plus also nurturing and encouraging self expression/interest while making the lessons educational through drawing. For older kids, it would be focusing on technical/observational skills in different art forms or mediums and also self expression/design knowledge. lessons will also be planned according to themes so that it’s engaging and educational at the same time! (Unless they are learning more technical skills it will be tailored accordingly) - Currently teaching 3 older kids sketching/still life drawing - Portfolio available upon request - able to teach at student's house and tutor's home art studio
