Tutor’s Teaching Background

Taught for 18 months at a tuition centre (EzyMath Studio). I taught all science disciplines and A and E math, from primary 4 to secondary 4, including IP and GEP students. I started the secondary 4 Physics venture for the tuition centre; before I started working there, they did not offer Secondary 4 Physics classes. Taught JC1 and JC2 one-on-one for 2 years. Subjects taught include H2 Physics, H2 Math, H2 Chemistry, H1 Economics. I prepared the learning materials (worksheets, slides, syllabus) by myself.  I believe wholly in understanding. I will aim to construct firm foundations rooted in understanding of the topic, while maintaining a friendly relationship with the student so as to teach them better. I have a unique teaching style: the belief that conceptual understanding allows students to solve any questions. In the NYPS Gifted Education Programme (GEP), I had a PSLE Score of 273. I DSA-ed into RI through academics, with a scholarship. In the RI Integrated Programme (IP), I had straight As. In RI, I had an A-Level RP of 90. In NUS, I qualified for a double major in two exceptionally difficult courses, Pharmaceutical Science and Physics, and was accepted into the Special Programme in Science. Both are only available for exceptional students. Any student can achieve this. It is not a matter of god-given talent, but studying techniques. There are things I have learnt that I wish I had known when I started—tips and tricks that make learning concepts and scoring in exams easier. I learnt these through a lifetime of trial and error. Besides teaching content, I want to teach you these techniques. School is stressful enough as it is, so let me save you the time needed to learn them alone. Studying is all I've known, and I have grown to enjoy it. I hope you can make use of my lengthy experiences to make learning easy and fun.
