Tutor’s Teaching Background

Academic & Teaching Credentials: I have achieved an International Baccalaureate Diploma from Singapore School of the Arts (SOTA), specializing in Literary Arts and Film. For my duration of study, I was a David Marshall Scholar. I graduated third in my cohort with a grade of 43/45, and topped the cohort with Distinction in HL Literature. I am a High Merit graduate from Singapore Management University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. Teaching Pedagogy: I believe in interest-based learning. Half the battle is won when your child realizes the joy, fulfillment and real-life application of a subject, rather than focusing on memorization and drills.This is not to say that tuition will be all fun and games; I am eager to provide your students with an edge (both academically and holistically) based on my unique learning experiences. As an individual with high functioning autism, I have also learned to help students like myself. As such, I have had experience working with students with various learning needs, like Down Syndrome, ADHD and Autism. Track Record of Student Success: With my assistance, two Primary school students have successfully entered into SOTA via DSA in Literary Arts. I currently tutor GP, IB Literature, and P5-6 English composition.
