Tutor’s Teaching Background

Dear parent(s), I am Xi Wen Lim, a Singaporean May 2025 IB graduate who took IB Chinese B HL in Shekou International School, Shenzhen. Prior to IB, I completed my IGCSE Chinese A examinations in an international School in Beijing, giving me a strong understanding of international curricula and exam expectations. I was predicted a 7 in IB Chinese B HL and achieve a high 6 in the final exams where I scored full marks (25/25) for the oral examination. Having gone through the IB examinations myself, I know what the examiners are looking for. Chinese B SL is split into 5 main topics where exam questions will revolve around these themes. In class, I will provided external practices by topics of reading passages to help sharpen your child's comprehension skills. This will be extremely useful in helping your child expand essay ideas. I will also consolidate key phrases and terms to memorize and utilize in the essay practices which will help your child score well in the writing components. This can also be used in oral practices where we will practice frequently. As I am currently teaching an international student in Chinese, I am definite that my teaching methods and skills will help your child excel in her Chinese B SL examinations.
