Tutor’s Teaching Background

I'm a full-time private tutor with over 5 years of experience, specialising in Primary School Math and Science and with a strong focus on PSLE preparation. I started my teaching journey at Smart Learning Guru tuition centre and later moved into private tutoring to provide more personalised support for each child. Since then, I've worked with students from Primary 1 to Primary 6, helping them build confidence, improve their understanding, and achieve their academic goals. I take a structured yet flexible approach to teaching English, focusing on building strong foundations in reading comprehension and essay writing. I help students develop critical thinking, vocabulary, and clear expression through guided reading, discussion, and step-by-step writing support. Lessons are tailored to each child’s ability, with a focus on boosting confidence, improving clarity, and fostering a genuine enjoyment of language. I have experience supporting students with a range of special educational needs, including autism and ADHD. I take a patient, adaptable approach, tailoring lessons to each learner’s needs and using strategies that build confidence and engagement. I've worked in both mainstream and specialist settings, as well as providing 1:1 tuition, always focusing on creating a supportive and structured environment where students can thrive.
