Tutor’s Teaching Background

Since 2023, I have been teaching Chinese in Singapore, including at Mett School, Qile Tuition Centre and through private tutoring. I am currently a full-time Chinese tutor, specialising in P2–P6 Chinese and Higher Chinese in both 1-to-1 and small-group settings. I also teach S1 Chinese Reading Comprehension and Composition in a 1-to-6 small-group class.

My teaching follows the school syllabus closely and systematically covers Chinese characters, vocabulary, sentence building, reading comprehension, oral communication, composition and listening. I also focus on Chinese language sense, targeted skills training, exam preparation and systematic error correction.

I use structured step-by-step teaching and spiral revision, combining new lessons with regular review so students retain what they have learned rather than “learn and forget”.

I have developed my own digital Chinese learning and mistake-management system, supported by AI-assisted tools. It tracks accuracy, repeated mistakes and long-term weaknesses, creating a personalised learning cycle: identify → analyse → targeted revision → retest → progress tracking.

After every lesson, I provide parents with clear feedback on lesson content, mastery, key weaknesses, homework and the next learning focus.

I also have practical experience supporting students with attention difficulties, ADHD-related learning needs, memory-retention difficulties and strong learning resistance through task breakdown, individualised pacing, repeated reinforcement and positive feedback.
