Tutor’s Teaching Background

About Me I'm a native Chinese speaker with a Ph.D. in Chemistry (Medicinal Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Sciences) from Northwestern University, and I bring both strong subject-matter expertise and genuine teaching experience to tutoring. During my undergraduate and graduate studies, I regularly tutored fellow students in chemistry. At Northwestern, I spent two full years as a Teaching Assistant, which included leading group class instruction, running Q&A sessions, and providing one-on-one tutoring, giving me real, hands-on experience adapting my teaching style to different learners and class formats. After my PhD, I spent 15+ years in a global FMCG R&D career, where my work on claims substantiation, in close collaboration with legal and regulatory teams, sharpened my professional English to a high level of precision in both writing and speaking. I'm fluent and literate in both Chinese and English, and I'm excited to offer tutoring in two areas: chemistry (from foundational to advanced levels), and professional/business English for Chinese-speaking adults who want to strengthen their writing and spoken communication in a professional context. I'd love to bring this combination of technical depth, real teaching experience, and bilingual fluency to help students build both confidence and capability.
