Tutor’s Teaching Background

I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Chinese with Distinction from Nanyang Technological University, as well as a Diploma in Chinese Studies (specialised in Education) from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. During secondary school, I consistently ranked top in my cohort for Chinese and attained Distinctions in both O-Level Chinese and Higher Chinese. I have over two years of tutoring experience, having worked with students across a range of levels—including two O-Level students, a Primary 1 student, a Primary 6 student (currently), and a Vietnamese working professional. My effective bilingualism enables me to communicate clearly with students from diverse backgrounds, supporting their learning with clarity and confidence. My lessons are goal-oriented and tailored to each student’s needs, with a strong focus on exam strategies such as composition planning, comprehension techniques, and oral fluency. I consistently help students improve by targeting key areas, building their confidence, and aligning lessons closely with MOE syllabus requirements. I recently applied to the National Institute of Education (NIE) and will be joining as a full-time MOE Chinese teacher soon. I believe my strong academic foundation, practical teaching experience, and genuine passion for the Chinese language make me a strong candidate for this assignment.
