Tutor’s Teaching Background

I am a warm, friendly and patient tutor who sets clear targets for students. I scored distinctions in Tamil, Combined Science (Phy/Bio) and Combined Humanities (Geog/SS) at the GCE O’level examination in 2015.

I have approximately two years of tutoring experience. Currently, I am teaching lower secondary science to a student, who has shown remarkable improvement under my tutelage. Other success stories include a former student attaining a B3 for Geog/SS and A2 for English at the GCE N’Level (NA) examination after scoring C6 and C5 respectively at the beginning of the year 2020. 

For humanities, I will provide ample exam tips and incorporate knowledge from my English literature degree to help students improve their answering techniques to showcase their analytical skills and deep understanding of content, aiming for the highest marks. 

For English, I will tap into my knowledge from my degree to improve students' oral, written and comprehension skills. For example, I can help with questions about word choice and literary devices, etc., that are frequently tested in examinations. 

For science, I will gather materials and ensure they receive enough practice to improve their understanding of the content. 

For Tamil, I have prior experience working at Tamil Murasu, the only Tamil language newspaper in Singapore. With this experience, I can help students hone their reading and writing skills. Moreover, I will teach students answering techniques for each section to score well for paper 2. 

I am confident that I will help your child achieve their desired grade for the subject. I will focus on their weaker areas, recommend the appropriate assessment books/practices to improve them and provide timely feedback to parents after every class. Should the child require more help, I am willing to schedule additional classes during the exam period.
