Tutor’s Teaching Background

I have taught for 20 years, from kindergarten to JC level. I am able to prepare and tailor my teaching materials to meet individual students' needs. I'm well-versed in the Montessori phonics teaching method and as an NIE trained teacher I have taught English in MOE secondary schools. I have experience providing teacher professional development at MOE HQ. I also have a Master in Science (International Relations) and worked as a political science researcher in an NTU think tank.

My teaching expertise and research background have helped 100 percent of my students improve (e.g., from fail to pass, from B to A) as I am able to identify strategies that best fit their learning needs.

My interactions with my students are always fun and lively! I believe patience and kindness are important in helping my students close their learning gaps, as I have seen my students develop the confidence to ask me lots of questions and, more importantly, become motivated to pursue self-improvement as a result.
