Tutor’s Teaching Background

I hold a PhD in Neuroscience and a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, with over five years of experience teaching Biology at secondary school and JC levels. I specialise in Pure Biology and have a proven record of helping students achieve major improvements, where several have progressed from E8 or D7 grades to A1/A2 within a year. My teaching approach focuses on developing strong conceptual understanding instead of rote memorisation. I simplify complex topics into logical, easy-to-grasp ideas, and train students to apply them effectively in data-based and essay questions. Lessons are tailored to each student’s learning speed and needs, balancing rigour with patience and encouragement.
