Tutor’s Teaching Background

Hi, I'm Michael Xing, currently pursuing an engineering degree at NUS. I've completed the IBDP curriculum in high school with excellent results across all subjects (43/45), got 7/A* in math/phy/chem/Chinese lit/English. Excelled in STEM competitions as well. My teaching experience mainly focuses on STEM subjects: ~ I served as a teaching assistant in high school for one year, teaching IGCSE Physics, helped 10 students achieve A and A* in the final exam. ~ Tutored IB phy&chem for half a year, improved students’ learning habits. ~ Volunteer teaching. Volunteering weekly to teach students from a primary school (math and English) and high school students from local children's welfare institute. Being both a student and teacher, I have a deep understanding of the process of learning and teaching, the difficulties students may face, and the habits / learning methods that facilitate good grades. Many students have gained insight on how to learn effectively, and improved academic performance as well as confidence through building better learning habits. I am committed to supporting learners in reaching their full potential.
